This work will not only improve the practical use of these areas, but will help to
eliminate poor drainage which may exist in these areas which may contribute to instabilities on the
mine site. In addition, the ditch along the south edge of the employee parking lot (D1-2) and the
ditch south of the office/bathhouse building (D1-1) will be regraded, if necessary, and lined with
asphalt or shotcrete. Both ditches are a gentle grade so that water is slow flowing to pond MB-1
and may also be contributing to instabilities.
Greystone Development, Inc. has completed a SedCAD run with lining in these ditches (see
attached). This model shows that the lined ditches can be a shallower configuration than the
existing unlined ditches, although the minimum configurations, as if unlined, will be constructed.
Several other ditches on the mine site will also be lined. After the SedCAD runs are completed
and minor revisions approved for the remaining ditches, the appropriate tables in the text and in
Exhibit 66 will be revised and provided to the Division. Again, the same minimum configuration
as if unlined (shown in the current tables) will be constructed.
Please don't hesitate to contact me should you have questions.
Sincerely,
a j~4TXJL-~/U ~{'V ~ ~vYi"'
Kathleen G.
