For the Bowie No. 2 Mine, Bowie
Resources has withdrawn Technical Revision No. 6, which involved the installation of a downhill
conveyor, coal stockpile and truck loadout and the relocation of a sedimentation pond and Technical
Revision No. 7, which involved the change in the mine plan to go to longwall mining with an
increase in production from 2 million tons per year to 5 million tons per year. For the Bowie No. 1
Mine, Bowie Resources also has withdrawn Technical Revision No. 30, which concerned an increase
in production at the railroad loadout from 2 million tons per year to 5 million tons per year.
In place of the withdrawn Technical Revisions Nos. 6 and 7, Bowie Resources will resubmit the
information under one permit revision. The company and the Division chose to combine these hvo
permitting actions into one revision, in part, to accommodate the wishes of individuals such as
yourself, who have indicated a desire to meet with the Division to discuss the proposed mine plans.
Technical Revision No. 30 will be submitted at a later time, again, as a technical revision. Technical
Revision No. 30 can not be submitted under the forthcoming Bowie No. 2 Mine permit revision since
it involves the Bowie No. 1 Mine and, therefore, has a different permit number.
Bowie Resources has indicated that they will be submitting the Bowie No. 2 permit revision very
soon. At that time, the company will publish notice of their application in the Deltcr Co:rnry
Independent Cor four consecutive weeks and place a copy of the revision application in the Delta
County Clerk & Recorder's Office. If you wish to submit comments on the proposed revision, you
may review the material at the courthouse and submit comments to this office, as indicated in the
