The revision was submitted by NCIG Financial, Inc.. All <br />review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this <br />date of filing. <br />This proposed technical revision (revision) provides for removal of an approximately <br />400-foot-long by 25-foot-wide strip of ground from the permit area. This action reduces the <br />permit boundary to areas south of County Road 335. This area was a corridor for a water <br />pipeline from the Colorado River to the facilities area of main pernut area. There was no <br />disturbance to soils or vegetation !n this area of the permit. <br />The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 7 miles West of <br />Glenwood Springs, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: <br />T6S, R91W; Portions of Sections 1 and 12 <br />T6S, R90W; Portions of Sections 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 15 and 16 <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute (,quadrangle maps of <br />Storm King Mountain and New Castle. <br />The above-referenced technical revision application would reduce the permit area. The <br />purpose of this letter is to request your agency's evaluation of the potential for impacts to <br />cultural and historic resources. <br />In accordance with the May 1991 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between our <br />agencies, we must have your concurrence in order to approve this proposal. We are required <br />to make a finding that "the proposed operations will not adversely affect any publicly owned <br />park or place listed on or those places eligible for listing, as determined by the SHPO, on the <br />
