CO 80477 Michael g tong <br /> Division Director <br />Re: Foidel Creek Kline (Permit No. C-82-056) <br />Technical Revision Application No. 30 <br />Batch Weigh/Loadout Haulroad <br />Dear Sir or Madam: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section I I6, Parasraph <br />4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on September 8, 1997, an application to revise coal mining operations at the Foidel <br />Creek Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filins. The revision was submitted by Twentymile Coal Co. All <br />review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regu{atiuns initiate from this date of tiling. <br />Twentymile Coal Co. proposes to construct a haul road from Haul Road C across Foidel Creek to the batch weigh/loadout <br />facility. This road is proposed to cross a wetlands area. TCC proposes to use alternative design criteria than specified in Rule <br />4.03.1(3) based upon use of geofabric and geogrid material in the construction process. <br />The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 23 miles southwest of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. <br />The permit area is further described as follows: <br />in portions of Sections 7, 8, 9, T4W, R86W; Sections 32 and 33, T6N, R86W; Sections 23, 24, 25, 26.27, 34, 35 and 36 in TSn, <br />R87W; and all of TSN, R86W with the exception of Sections 34, 35, and 36. <br />The area to be affected by this revision lies in TSN, R86W, SW I/4 NE 1/4, Section 31. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Rattlesnake Butte. <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available For public inspection at the Routt County Courthouse, Box 773598. <br />Steamboat Springs, CO 80477, and at the Division office.
