Seeding Time
The seed mixture will be broadcast at one of two times. If fall planting is convenient, it will be
performed before the fast freeze (about the time Winter Wheat is planted). If spring planting is
convenient, it will be done in late April or in May. The time of planting will be controlled by
when the soil azeas aze ready for planting.
8. Grasses
The recommended seed mixture is shown below. The rates aze applicable to broadcast seeding.
This mixture is consistent with Mr. Olson's recommendation for non irrigated planting on the
site. The seed will be spread on a rough surface and the seeded azeas will be dragged or raked
thoroughly. No mulch is necessary if planting occurs at the proper time and at the proper depth.
The SCS makes no recommendation as to mulching for this site.
Species Lbs.
