III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII ~ •
STATE OF
COLORADO
i
DIVISION OF MINERALS AND GEOLOGY
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman $t., Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Phone: (3U3) 866-3567
FA%: 13031 832-8106
November 22, 1994
To: Ioe Dudash
From: Janet
Re: Golde
012) TR-37; Response to Stipulation No. 68.
I
I~~~~
DEPARTMENT O:
NATURAL .
RESOURCE,
Roy Romer
Governor
lames S Lochhead
Exttulive DireUOr
Michael B. LOng
Division Director
Joe , my apologies for being diverted off this project for so long. Unfortunately, inheriting
this one towards the end of its permitting Life required me to go back through 1) the
previous reviewers comments and identify his concerns, and 2) orient myself with the permit
since I had no knowledge of the site, then 3) evaluate the proposed revision. Meanwhile,
I kept having brushfires appear in my in box requiring immediate attention, sorry.
So, with that I think I've finally boiled these responses down.
For my ease of deciphering I've treated these as two separate revisions. I will address my
comments as two distinct revisions.
A note you may want to pass on to the operator: When two distinct permits are issued to
the same operator for mines within the same proximity, and permits are organized in like
manners, it is often helpful to designate on the permit page which permit application it
pertains to. I have seen pages cross filed (not on these two permits that I'm aware of)
which can lead to no end of permitting confusion. A simple way would be designate GE
or NE in the date revised block.
Golden Eagle
1) A. Table 21 has been revised to include an irrigated pastureland seed mix as
requested by the Division.
B. No revision has been made to the Rangeland mix to help achieve the warm
species diversity standard. The operator states in the cover letter of Apri121,
1994 that warm season success may be achieved through management
practices. This is acceptable, although Basin may have additional success
through inclusion of additional warm season species in the seed mix.
