<br /> <br />(d) Size ofi area to be worked at any one time and associated <br />disturbance classifiication <br />The applicant proposes to operate this pit on a Floating <br />Bond. A maximum of 20 acres will be affected at any one <br />time. Reclamation will follow mining as closely as possible. <br />The 20 acres maximum will have the following disturbance <br />classification. <br />(i) Major Disturbance: 10 Acres. <br />(ii) Moderate Disturbance: 6 Acres, will include: <br />1. backfilling of an open cut, <br />2. the leveling of overburden spoils and caprock, <br />3. the smooth grading and distribution of <br />topsoil. <br />There will be no: <br />1. <br />• 2. <br />3. <br />4. <br />5. <br />6. <br />stabilization of waste dumps. <br />railroads. <br />evaporation or settling ponds. <br />leaching dumps. <br />waste storage or discharge areas. <br />structures of any kind on site. <br />(iii) Minor Disturbance: 4 Acres, will include: <br />1. completion of topsoiling. <br />2. disking or chiseling. <br />3. fertilization. <br />4. seeding. <br />5. mulching <br />(e) Approximate timetable to describe the mining operations: <br />This 120 acres constitute a major clay deposit for the ap- <br />plicant which will provide a supply well into the middle or <br />last of the next century. The affected area is projected to <br />have a life of at least 50 years. The applicant proposes the <br />same mining acreage ratio throughout the operation as de- <br />scribed in (d). <br />Mayor Disturbance 10 Acres <br />Moderate Disturbance 6 Acres <br />.
