MINED I~D WILDLIFE STATEMENT/EVAL~ION (Revised) <br />for limited impact and select regular mine applications <br />• The following information pertaining to wildlife is provided for <br />use by Mined Land Reclamation Board in their consideration of a <br />mining permit for: <br />8-Mile Clay Mine; 7.5 mi. NW Canon City; T18S-R71W-S4&5 <br />Name/Type and Location of Mine (Legal) <br />Wildlife Species List: Mule Deer, Pronghorn, Black Bear, Mountain <br />Lion, Coyote, Ringtail, Bobcat, Gray Fox, Striped Skunk, Cottontail <br />Rabbit, Jackrabbit, Magpie, Crow, Pinion Jay, Golden Eagle, Hawks, <br />Owls, songbirds. <br />Endangered/Critical Species/Impacted: None Known. <br />Critical Habitats/Vegetative Communities Impacted: None Known. <br />• Assessment of impact: With proper mining precautions and <br />reclamation efforts impacts to the wildlife resource should be <br />temporary and minimal. <br />Mine Reclamation Recommendations (include key species/habitats for <br />which restoration is designed): All disturbed surfaces should be <br />properly sloped and revegetated as per SCS specifications. The <br />area is subject to intense and brief thunderstorms and soil erosion <br />and gully erosion are common.
