Meadow brome
Russian wildrye
Alfalfa, prostrate type
Indian ricegrass
Canada bluegrass
Sand dropseed
Small bumet
Winterfat
4-wing saltbrush
CJ
Regar
Bozoisky-select or Ynall
Spredor 2
Nezpar
Ruebens
Native or Common
Delar
Hatch or Native
Rincon or Native
Substitute Hycrest (AgrQpyron cdstatum x Aeroovron desertorum hybrid) when available. The
above varieties are preferred but do not constitute the only available adapted varieties. Seed
availability problems associated with the above recommended varieties will require that the next
best adapted variety or native/common types be used. The alternate selections will be made
from regional sources.
Dry Sites: All species
Moist Sites: Aaroovron smithi. Bt9muS, Me~iCagq, p9s3, .
Cool Season: A9[4pX[OIl, Btomus ElymSts, P_Oa, 9q¢4psIS, I2aGiylis, Sanquisorba, Geratoides.
Warm Season: Me_dIS~g4, At[ip1eX, Soorobolus.
Fine Textured Sites: ~ggropyron desertorum, (~ropvron smithii, BLQmus, E1YIDUS, Medicaeo,
psa, Sangl is~ orba, ~, Atijpjex, jZat
Coarse Textured Sites: All species except
PLS - is the pure live seed content or percentage found in bulk seed. PLS is calculated by
multiplying the germination rate times the purity rate. Example: A seed tag listing alfalfa as
being 99 percent pure and having a 91 percent gerrnination rate would have a pure live seed
rate of 90 percent as seen by:
99 x .91 x 100 = 90.09 PLS
where a 5 Ib/acre PLS drill rate would be adjusted to 5.6 Ibs/acre bulk as seen by:
5 PLS Ibs = 5.6 bulk Ibs
90.09 PLS
22-3
