In TR-44, Bowie is
expanding gob pile no. 2 to the west until it meets gob pile no. 1.
Initially, gob pile no. 2 had a design capacity of 2,000,000 cubic yards. This capacity was
reduced to 800,000 cubic yards when the design outslope of the pile was modified to be
less steep. With TR-44, the capacity will be increased to 1,075,000 cubic yards.
The new surface disturbance is 0.63 acres with this revision. Previous revisions, namely
TR-43 and MR-66, already permitted surface disturbance in this area for a borrow area.
There are some changes to the hydrology designs proposed in TR-44 as well.
TR-44 was called complete on October 13, 2006. The adequacy due date is November
13, 2006, a Monday. If I could get your adequacy memo back by Thursday, November 9,
2006, that would be great. November 10 is a holiday.
Attached is one complete copy of the TR-44 submittal. If you need any other information,
please let me know. Thanks for your assistance.
Attachments
cc: Sandy Brown (without attachments)
Dan Hernandez (without attachments)
c:/word/bowie2/tr44memo2
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Active and Inactive Mines
