• Soutl~e(d Mine Miwr Rriision Rrqurst No. 20 -South Fan fnsta((ation
ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCES (2.04)
The information on existing environmental resources presented in the EFCI
permit application document addresses the Southfield permit area and is
applicable to the proposed fan installation site. Also, the proposed
installation will not result in any significant additional environmental impacts
beyond those contemplated in the existing permit application.
The following sections summarize and/or reference relevant environmental
information from the permit application.
Site Description and Land Use (2.04.3)
The area to be effected by the proposed fan installation is an existing portal
• bench established in conjunction with the previous mining activities. The
bench area is approximately five to ten feet above the level of the nearby
intermittent drainage and consists of partially consolidated outwash
materials. Vegetation in the surrounding undisturbed areas is dominated by
the transitional pinon-pine, juniper community. Some volunteer vegetative
reestablishment has occurred in existing disturbance areas with grasses,
(orbs and low shrubs dominant.
Current and historical land uses for this area are similar and include
rangeland, wildlife habitat and mining. Expanded site description and land
use information is presented in Section 2.03.4 of the EFCI permit
application document (Volume 1).
•
ACL lnc. • P.O.
