Exhibit A LEGAL DESCRIPTION
This information is unchanged.
Exhibit B -INDEX MAP
This information is unchanged.
Exhibit C -PRE MINING MAP
This information is unchanged.
Exhibit C-1 - MINING PLAN MAP
Minor revision showing the change of the start of mining from
Sharkey's Lake to Longhorn Lake and extended stockpile area in
Bluff Lake area. Also shown is the location of the Slurry wall
around both lakes covered by this Technical Revision.
Exhibit D
MINING PLAN
Unless specifically discussed below the methods described
and approved in the original permit applications, mining and
reclamation plans will remain unchanged. The current bond is
$110,500 and a new reclamation cost estimate is presented in
Exhibit L on page 13 of this application. The following changes
to the mining plan are numbered sequentially to give some order
to this amendment.
AMENDMENT 1 - Mining method chance
In this proposed revision we want to change the mining
method from wet to dry mining. Currently the approved plan calls
for mining the site as a wet operation using a dredge.
Dewatering is permitted on a limited basis to allow installation
of the dredge in each lake area. We have found that it will be
far more practical to mine the area as a dry operation. To avoid
impacting surrounding wells we propose installing a bentonite
slurry wall around each lake area prior to mining it. Once this
is done mining will begin, with some of the material being moved
to the processing plant and some will be stockpiled in the Bluff
Lake area. The topsoil will be stored on the north end of Bluff
Lake for use in reclamation. We expect to use 85.00 acres ± of
the Bluff Lake area for these temporary stockpiles.
Under the current plan the lake banks have a 3:1 sloping
rate from 5 foot above to 10 feet below and a 2:1 on all other
slopes. Because of the proposed end use change we will mine the
lake slopes at a uniform 3:1 rate from top to bottom to allow for
the changing lake elevations as water is added and removed from
the reservoir.
At this time the exact design for the slurry wall is not
complete. As soon as it is, we will submit it to the Division
for review. The first area to be lined will be the Longhorn Lake
