Mehlhoff, Bureau of Land Management ~-~ <br />SUBJECT: Minor Revision Request - Drilling of Nine (9) ' <br />Development Holes and One I1) GOB Gas Ventilation Hole. <br />Permit No. C-81-018. Deserado Mine <br />PeYSOnnel from this office have reviewed the above minor revision and <br />anticipate no significant impact from the proposed actions. <br />Therefore, it is recommended that the revision be approved subject to <br />the following stipulations: <br />1.) If, in its operations, the holdeY discovers any cultural <br />remains, monuments or sites, or any object of antiquity <br />subject to the Antiquities Act of June R, 1906 (34 Stat. <br />225; 16 U. 5, C. secs. 431-433), The Archaeological <br />Resources Protection Act of 1979 (Public Law 96-95), and 43 <br />CFR, Part 3, the holder shall immediately cease activity and <br />report directly to the AYea Manager. The Bureau shall then <br />take such actions as required under the acts and regulations <br />thereunder. The holder shall follow the mitigation <br />requirements set forth by SLM concerning protection, <br />preservation or disposition of any sites or material <br />discovered. In cases where salvage excavation is necessary, <br />the cost of such excavation shall be borne by the holder, <br />unless otherwise stated. <br />2.) In order to protect important seasonal wildlife habitat <br />(mule deer), exploration, drilling, and other development <br />activity may not be allowed for up to sixty (60) days during <br />the period from December 1 through March 31. Exceptions to <br />this limitation in any year may be specifically authorized <br />in writing by the Area Manager, Bureau of Land Management. <br />3.) 1n order to protect important seasonal wildlife habitat <br />(raptor buffer zones) development activity may not be <br />allowed during the period of March 1 - July 31 for holes <br />~~;,,.,,,/~ 210111'-5, 21013-19, 21014-25, and 21014-26. <br />Exceptions to this limitation in any year may bP specifically' <br />authorized in writing 'by the Area Manager, Bureau of Land Management. <br />rL there are any questions, please contact Keith Whitaker dt (970) <br />R7A-3601. <br />.~ <br /> <br /> <br />
