postmining topography in accordance with Map 19
HYDROLOGY ISSUES
As we discussed, changes to the postmining topography will affect minor portions of two
permanent, riprap lined ditches, namely the West Pit Fill Ditch from approximately Station 32 to
60 and the Taylor Tributary Ditch from approximately Station 0 to 15.
West Pit Fill Ditch Sta. 32 to 69
The reconfiguration of the postmining topography results in a slight rerouting and steepening
(up to 20%) of a small segment of the ditch. The enclosed SEDCAD utility run pages and
revised summary table should replace the like page which are both found in Volume 2D, Exhibit
7, Hydrology Information. Leave the SEDCAD run and other information in this section intact.
Tavlor Tributary Ditch Sta. 0 to 65 and Sta. 65 to 108
The reconfiguration of the postmining topography results in steepening (up to 25%) the initial
segment of the ditch. An additional enclosed SEDCAD utility run pages and revised summary
table should replace the like page which are both found in Volume 2D, Exhibit 7, Hydrology
Information. Leave the SEDCAD run and other information in this section intact.
Also enclosed, please find revised Drawing 12 -Hydrology, Drawing No.33A - Postmining
Permanent Drainage Profiles and Drawing No. 41 -Watershed Boundaries for Hydrologic
Modeling which will replace the same drawings found in Volumes 7, 9 and 10 respectively.
BONDING ISSUES
The Division had requested that Colowyo review the Reclamation Performance Bond to
determine whether any changes were necessary. The entire area affected by this revision is
either covered by the West Pit Area Disturbance bond scenario or the Facilities Disturbance
Area bond scenario. As such, there are no gaps in bond coverage in the areas affected by this
revision and no additional unbonded acreage will be effected. Our conclusion is that no
Reclamation Performance Bond changes are necessary for this postmining topography
modification.
Colowyo has also attached a copy of a proposed Public Notice for TR-48 which will be
published upon notification from the Division that this TR Application is complete.
Colowyo would be pleased to discuss the proposal with the Division at your convenience should
you so desire.
Sincerely
~~-~/ i/yf'c~,e Fret
James A.
