Long Drvisinn DireUOr The Division is hereby providing you with an update of the amendment application process, regarding the Butala gravel pit, since you submitted a letter of concern or an objection. As you recall, the amendment application was finally submitted in December, 1997. The Division reviewed the application and sent the applicant an adequacy letter January 13, 1998. The applicant submitted a response to the Division's adequacy letter on April 6, 1998. The Division decided that the applicant's response was an amendment to the application and will require the applicant to re-publish and mail a new notice of the application which will cause all applicable deadlines to begin to run anew. After reviewing the applicant's response the Division sent the applicant a second adequacy letter on April 23, 1998. The Division still plans to hold an informal conference (and apre-hearing conference if necessary) since [here is a valid objection to the application. The Division will schedule the conference as soon as the new cottunent period expires. If the applicant ran the first publication during the week of April 13-17, 1998, as required, the informal conference can be held during the week of June 8-12, 1998. A copy of the Division's first adequacy letter, and the applicant's response, should have been filed with the Clerk and Recorder (as of this date, I still do not have proof that a copy was filed). If you wish to review the application you can stop by the County Clerk's office or come to the Division's office in Denver. However, if you want to wait until the application is complete before reviewing it, you still have time to do so. If you have any questions, please give me a call.
