iii iiiiiiiiiiiu iii <br />999 <br />NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION <br />The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology proposes to approve with conditions Permit Renewal <br />Application No. 3 (RN-3), submitted by Seneca Coal Company for a coal mining permit a[ the Seneca II <br />Mine (Pemtit No. C-80-005). The proposed renewal will allow for continued mining and/or reclamation <br />operations at the site. <br />The Seneca II Mine is a surface mine located in Routt County, approximately 9 miles SE of Hayden. Coal <br />interest is federal, state and private, and the surface to be affected is state and private land. The permit azea <br />encompasses approximately 3,457.0 acres. <br />This proposed decision is based on a finding that the proposed operation will comply with all requirements <br />of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act, Section 34-33-101 et seq., C.R.S., and the <br />regulations promulgated thereunder. <br />Copies of the proposed decision, including any stipulations, aze on file for public inspection at the <br />Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 2l5 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street, <br />Denver, Colorado 80203, and at the County Clerk's Office in Routt County, Box 773598, Steamboat <br />Springs, CO 80477. Persons with an interest that maybe adversely affected by the proposed decision may <br />request a formal hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Boazd on the proposed decision. Such <br />request must be made within thirty (30) days of the initial publication of this notice, must be in writing, <br />and must state with reasonable specificity the reasons for the request and the objections to the proposed <br />decision. <br />
