The amended application concerns an
open pit mine known as the "Snow Storm Pit" which is used for gold and gravel
mining. The application indicates that ground water should not be encountered
in this mining operation and no surface water impacts are expected.
The applicant does have an approved substitute water supply plan in place for
this operation. The applicant has also filed an application for approval of
an augmentation plan under Case No. 90CW99 in Division 1 Water Court. An
objection to the augmentation plan has been filed by this office.
We have no objection to approval of the applicant's proposed revision provided
the applicant continues in compliance with the substitute water supply plan.
JRH/DLN:cIf/2745I
