Dept. of Natural Resources
Re: Technical Revision to Henderson Mine Permit No. 77-342
Dear Mr. Holder:
When reviewing the as-built drawings for a portion of a
project begun in 1982, it was discovered that a segment of a
clearing and access road for the project is outside an affected-
lands boundary (attached map). We wish to correct this situation
by applying for a technical revision.
During the summer of 1982, a 100-ft by 27,720-ft (63.3-acre)
right-of-way (ROW) was cleared above the tailing deposition area
(Area 9) for an interceptor canal. An access/maintenance road
will be located alongside the canal within the clearing when the
project is complete. An access road to the beginning of the canal
is located in a 50-ft by 1,155-ft clearing. It is this access road
and clearing comprising 1.3 acres that was discovered to have been
inadvertently located outside the affected-lands boundary when the
interceptor-canal as-built drawings were reviewed.
A section of the boundary of Area 9 (tailing deposition) was
redrawn to include the access road, clearing, and a buffer which
together amount to 13 acres. To accommodate this change of affected
acreage, we propose to withdraw the same number of
