Geier: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph <br />4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on February I8, 1999, an application to revise coal mining operations a[ [he Bowte <br />No.2Minewasconsideredcompleteforthepurposesoffiling. The revision was submitted by Bowie Resources Limited. All <br />review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />Approval of this technical revision would allow an incidental boundary change in order to conduct development mining in <br />federal coal. This technical revision can not be approved until Bowie Resources has secured the federal lease for the right of <br />entry to that federal cual. The incidentalboundarychangewou(d add 59 acres of private surface and 20 acres of federal surface <br />tc thz northwest cnrnerof the permit area. The entire 79 acre proposed addition is federal coal. There w ould not bz any change <br />in the conventional room and pillar mining method employed nor would [here be any increase in the prcduction rate. <br />The undergroundcoa! mintne opzration n on land located approximately 5 miles northeast of Paonia, Colorado. The permit <br />area is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 2, 3. 4, 9, I0, 1 I, 14, 15, and 16, Township 13 South, Range 91 West of the 6th P.M. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Bowie. <br />A copy of the technical revision application is available for public inspection at the Delta Counry Courthouse, 5th & Palmer, <br />Delta, CO 81416, and at the Division office. For additional information or to provide written comments, contact the Division <br />of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. in order for us to <br />comply with regulatory time frames, we request that comments be submitted within fifteen (15) days of this letter.
