Oept. of Natural Ges~~rc~ <br />The Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division has approved with conditions an <br />application for a permit revision to the existing permit to conduct coal <br />mining and reclamation operations submitted by the Colorado Westmoreland Inc. <br />for the Orchard Valley West Mine. <br />The Orchard Valley West Mine operation is located in Delta County, <br />approximately 6 miles from Paonia, Colorado. The mine is an underground <br />operation with an anticipated maximum production capacity of 600,000 tons per <br />year. The coal to be mined is federally & privately owned, and the surface to <br />be affected ie federally & privately owned. The revised permit area <br />encompasses approximately 31.2 acres and is described as follows: <br />A parcel of land situated in Section 23, T13S, R92W, 6th P.M., <br />described as follows: <br />E 1/2 NW 1/4 NW 1/4 SE 1/4, SW 1/4 NE 1/4 NW 1/4 SE 1/4, NE 1/4 SW <br />1/4 NW 1/4 SE 1/2, SE 1/4 NW 1/4 SE 1/4, SW 1/4 SW 1/4 NE 1/4 SE 1/4, <br />NE 1/4 NE 1/4 SW 1/4 SE 1/4, NW 1/4 NW 1/4 SE 1/4 SE 1/4, containing <br />27.5 acres +. <br />And a power line right-of-way fifty feet wide across part of the NW <br />1/4 of Section 25, T 13 S, R 92 W, Sixth Principal Meridian, the <br />centerline of which is described as follows: <br />Beginning at a point on the east line of property owned by Colorado <br />Westmoreland Inc. described by the document recorded in Book 454 at <br />Page 1323 of the real estate records of Delta County, Colorado whence <br />the north 1/4 corner of said Section 25 (an existing U.S. G.L.O. <br />brass cap monument) bears N 00° 20' 49" E, 62.28 feet, considering <br />the north line of the NW 1/4 of said Section 25 between the said <br />north 1/4 corner and the northwest corner of said Section 25 (an <br />existing survey monument reestablished by P.L.S. 11530) to bear S 89° <br />57' 44" W from the Colorado Westmoreland control system grid, and all <br />other bearings to be relative thereto; thence N 81° 06' 33" E, 254.65 <br />feet to the north line of said Section 25. (0.29 acres + per JFAS) <br />Also a power line right-of-way fifty feet wide across part of the E <br />1/2 SE 1/4 of Section 23 and part of the SW 1/4 SW 1/4 of Section 24, <br />all in said T 13 S, R 92 W, the centerline of which is described as <br />follows: <br />Beginning at a point on the north line of the said property owned by <br />Colorado Westmoreland Inc. described by the document recorded in Book <br />454 at Page 1323 whence the said north 1/4 corner of Section 25 bears <br />N 89° 57' 44" E, 1409.00 feet, thence N 55° 41' 02" W, 2982.77 feet <br />to the west line of the E 1/2 SE 1/4 of said Section 23.
