Crick
Reclamation Specialist
Re: Coal Ridge No. 1 Mine
Permit No. C-84-065, TR No. 7
US Fish and Wildlife Service Review
Dear Mr. Crick:
R~CFO ~~
D
JUC ~ 9 X991
R~ci matio ~~~a /o
n
Reference is made to your letter of July 3, 1991, regarding some
correspondence your office received from the U. S. Fish and
Wildlife Service about the Technical Revision No. 7 of the cap-
tioned permit.
i am enclosing herewith copies of correspondence, reports and
other information as prepared by the US Fish and Wildlife
Service, when they reviewed and approved this project in 1985 and
1986. At that time, the Service requested that the company
should make a contribution of approximately 55,300 to a special
fund, a copy of the check is also enclosed.
It appears, that due to the name changes of the company, the
Service probably does not realize that the present project and
the withdrawal of water had been reviewed and approved before.
The water right, under which the company will take a certain
amount of water from the Colorado River was awarded to the com-
pany by the Water Court in 1985. You have copies of such award
as well as the quadrennial filings with the court.
I am mailing a copy of the enclosed the material to Mr. Reith L.
Rose, Acting Colorado State Supervisor of the US Fish and
Wildlife Service. I trust that this meets with your approval.
Sincerely,
E. Peter Matthies
Resident Agent
~" ti~Cf.
ll~ll~~~~,~~ r~d~„lI
