Pavlik <br />Environmental Protection Specialist <br />Division of Minerals & Geology <br />1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br />RE: Eastside Mine (Permit No. C-84-063) <br />Technical Revision No. 12 (Change in Water Monitoring) <br />Dear Ms. Pavlik: <br />With regard to the referenced Technical Revision No. 12 proposal, this office has reviewed <br />the proposal and the hydrology section of the permit application to determine if the proposed <br />technical revision would have adverse water resources impacts; specifically, the following have <br />been reviewed: <br />1) The groundwater modeling done utilizing the "AQUILIS" model to simulate confined! <br />unconfined aquifer responses to mining. <br />2) The technical revision proposing to reduce but not eliminate groundwater quality monitoring. <br />3) The plan of augmentation decreed in Division 5 Water Court in Water Court Case 91 CW081. <br />This office has no objection to the proposed Technical Revision No. 12 (Change in Water <br />fdenitoring) in that no adverse water resource impacts are perceived. <br />Sincerely <br />~s~~i~~- <br />Chuck Roberts <br />Professional Engineer III <br />CGR:jmg <br />6386L.cgr <br />
