The enclosed material responds to item number <br />2, which requested an updated reclamation cost estimate be <br />calculated for the operation covering the next five-year permit <br />term. <br />• Seneca Coal Company's (SCC) response to item number 1 is that we <br />are hesitant to remove any wells until bond release. In the case of <br />the 15 series wells, perhaps the water smear will eventually clear <br />itself up or a method will be discovered to remove the casing <br />smear. Besides, SCC feels that no harm would be done by leaving <br />these wells in place for now. SCC will provide a response to item <br />number 3 regarding well abandonment volumes at a later date since <br />this item is not related to the permit renewal. <br />Enclosed are the insertion instructions into the PAP, and the <br />revised material.
