~:~
concave lower segment. The transition from the low gradient mid-segment to the
concave lower segment is abrupt, and the upper section of the lower segment is
very steep. This abrupt transition is more pronounced on the revised PMT profile
(approximately 6.7% to 33.2°k). The low gradient segment on the revised PMT
profile extends from approximately 600 to approximately 500 feet, but the actual
grade is not listed on the profile. Due primarily to the abrupt slope transition
described, the revised PMT profile does not appear to comply with the geomorphic
design specifications of page 10, or the regulatory requirements of 4.05.4(4). Please,
amend the Exhibit to conform with applicable geomorphic criteria of 4.05.4(4) and
design specifications listed on narrative page 10.
006-S 1
18. Pre-mine profile was not provided. The currently approved plan did not include a
designed drainage channel for this reclaimed drainage. The profile provided ih the
revision exhibits a convex shape, with two apparently abrupt slope transitioris at
360 (1.5%:9.4%),and 260 (9.4%:15.2°k). The steepest slope segment is near the
lower end of the profile. For these reasons; the profile does not appear to comply
with the geomorphic design specifications of page 10, or the requirements of Rule
4.04.4(4). Please amend the Exhibit to conform with applicable geomorphic criteria
of 4,05.4(4) and design specifications listed on narrative page 10.
