Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
The Division of Minerals and Geology has received your responses to your comments to
our 10 May 2005 adequacy letter. Oxbow Mining LLC provided information to update
the text of the permit application document as requested by the Division.
The Division has one additional request for this application. In the latest response to
comments, OMLLC updated portions of the discussion in Section 2.04.7 concerning the
treatment of mine water. In the first paragraph of that section, however, the statement is
made that the only mine water discharge to date has been from spring SP-8. This is not
accurate as water was routinely discharged from the Sanborn Creek Mine prior to its
closure. Please include a discussion of the discharge from the Sanborn Creek Mine that
was routed to the mine water treatment pond.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 303-866-4928.
Sincerely,
~f~~iLGG~
Jlm Burnell
Environmental Protection Specialist
Co: S.
