..
Cathy Begej - 3 - May 16, 1990
a~ 8. Commitments identified under question 8 were properly incorporated into
the permit application. The response is acceptable.
oil 9. No information about a rye grass competition study was located by WFC.
No big deal. Vegetation data was collected in 1983 from the two
rye-ft~ Curol¢ transects (#2 and #3) that were placed in the Phase III area. Transect 2
was laid down in an area without rye, while Transect 3 was located in an
area with rye. Narrative describing the result of this sampling was not
provided. With only one sample in each area, no valuable conclusions
could be drawn as results were not replicated. The response is
acceptable in my opinion as the commitment to monitor this was probably a
nicety that WFC agreed to and is in excess of what the law requires.
oK 10. The response is adequate.
~._ 11. Pending the promised submittal of ~~a request fora technical revision
regarding the woody plant standard this response is acceptable.
However, WFC should set a date by which they will send either an
appropriate revision or an appropriate response.
~" 12. The response is acceptable in spite of their lack of follow through on
commitments to monitor the two introduced species.
/lac
6963E
