Sample Type.
d/ - When the measurement frequency indicated is quarterly, the samples
shall be collected during Marcli, June, September and December, if a
continual discharge occurs. If Clie discharge is intermittent, then
samples shall be collected during the period that discharge occurs.
If the permittee, using [}~e approved analytical methods, monitors any
parameter mote frequently than required by this permit, then the
results of such monitoring shall be included in the calculation and
• reporting of the values required in the Discharge Monitoring Report
Form or other forms as required by [he Division. Such increased
frequency shall also be indicated.
e/ - Definitions of sample Type
1. A "composite" sample, for monitoring requirements, is a minimum
of four (4) grab samples collected at equally spaced two (2) hour
intervals and proportioned according to Elow.
2. A "grab" sample,~for monitoring requirements, is a single "dip
and take" sample.
3. An "instantaneous" measurement, for monitoring requirements, is a
single reading, observation, or measurement performed on site.
4. A "continuous" measurement, for flow mor~i[oring requirements, is
a measurement obtained from an automatic recording device which
continually measures flow.
S. A "visual" observation, for oil and grease monitoring
requirements, 1s observing rile discharge to check for the
presence of a visible sl~ecn or floating oil.
• 6. An "in-s![u" measurement, for monitoring requirements, is defined
as a single reading, observation or measurement taken in the
field nt the polo[ of discharge.
Code: i - 16 Date: 1 - N4
