EXISTING SITE AND SURROUNDING AREA
The current site exists as a gravel pit surrounded by dry fields and dry rangeland slopes. Irrigated fields
further surround this azea on the west. Gas production wells can be found in this azea. One well lies
directly in the center of the extraction area. A gas pzocessing facility, the Ignacio Plant, is the only visible
structure from the pit. It lies on CR307, to the southeast of the pit. The neazest residence is owned by
the Cugnini's. The neat closest residence is more than a quarter mile away to the south of the pit area.
Two water wells lie to the west of the pit. Both of these wells aze owned by the Cugnini's. They are
used for stock watering. They will be used to mitigate dust during the life of the pit. Irrigation ditches
serve in the irrigated fields surrounding the pit. No water resources aze expected to be affected by this
operation. The approved land use for this azea on the Florida Mesa is Rural Residential and Agricultural.
The post mining land use of imgated field and dry rangeland slopes fits this description.
Cugnini 12/03 2
