Long
Division Director
This letter is in response to your letter dated July 8, 1999 regarding the midterm review of the
Edna Mine permit. As we discussed on the phone, all the outstanding issues associated with the
midterm review are hydrology related. Since it is near the time for submittal of the 1999 Annual
Hydrology Report, DMG would like to have the opportunity to review the most recent AHR
before P&M submits a revision addressing the midterm issues. 1f we identify any additional
issues, the revisions can all be made at the same time.
The following list summarizes the items identified in the midterm.
1 a. P&M will update Section 2.5 and Appendix 4.6-R to document the Moffat pond water
rights.
1. Permit will be revised to correct the designation for Well TCS-l.
2. The monitoring frequency for Well TCS-1 will be evaluated.
3. Response accepted.
4. Response accepted-
5. This will be evaluated during the review of the 1999 AHR.
6. Response accepted.
7. Response accepted.
We will be in touch with you after the review of the 1999 AHR to determine what other revisions
to the permit may be necessary, or if there are any modifications P&M proposes. Please feel free
to contact me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
i ~ • ~~'^~
Sandra L. Brown
Environmental Protection Specialist
STATE OF COLORADO
