No response required.
5. Map 54A will be revised and submitted with the approval of the revised SAE and
drainage designs for the Lone Pine Gulch facilities.
6. A revised page 2 of 13 was forwarded to you by Greystone which describes the
configuration of the ditches at the topsoil stockpile, rather than calling them "feathered"
May 15 Letter
MCC agrees with the Division that the SedCAD demonstration is an effective modeling
tool, and that field-proven sediment control devices, such as silt fence, straw bale filters,
etc., that are not accounted for in the model, should be utilized. As stated above, on
revised page 2 of 13, "feathered" ditches are still a part of the demonstration, and on page
3 of 13, the flow distribution straw bales and filter fencing are to be utilized at the berm
breaks (B-1 & B-2) and culvert outfalls (C-3 & C-4) and at the toes ofthe staging area fill
and topsoil pile, respectively. The only silt fence that has been removed from the
demonstration are the mid-slope and toe silt fences on the fan bench cut, as these
structures simply cannot be installed and maintained on this steep rock-filled area. The
fences were in fact installed at this location, as you may recall, but were destroyed or
buried by rock debris. MCC has installed additional, "back up" to each of the structures
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
sss
