Bulldog Mountain Operation
Operating Plan
Page 6
Trench extension will conform to the size and shape of the existing
interceptor trench and the distrubed soil will be re-seeded with native
vegetation under Forest Service supervision.
Periphery tailings discharge. Anew 8-inch tailings line will be
installed on the banks of the tailings dam impoundment so that slime
discharge can be more uniformly deposited for pond sealing. Installa-
tion of this line will be attempted without construction of access or
maintenance roads. Any ground disturbance will be restored to its
original appearance to the extent practical.
Access roads. The access road from La Font's property to the slurry wall/
drainage collection trench construction area will be restored to its
original condition with reshaping and re-seeding with native vegetation
under forest Service specifications.
The access road from the top of the dam to the slurry wall/drainage
trench area will be left as a permanent access for pump maintenance.
The road will not be graveled but will be maintained at a minimum
standard sufficient to pass a 4-wheel drive pickup or similar vehicle.
Water bars will be provided, if needed, for drainage and erosion
control.
Schedula
It is expected that the entire remedial program will be started and completed
in the upcoming 1982 warm weather construction period. Preliminary engineering
estimates show a three month time period for all construction.
The actual construction schedule will not be known until an engineer-
contractor has been selected through the bidding process. Likewise additions
or deletions to the remedial program may occur following consultation with
the bidders.
Reclamation and environmental cleanup will commence immediately following
completion of any phase of tfie construction.
fanaral
Additional procedure and information to the operating plan is listed as follows.
I. Construction of access roads will meet Forest Service engineering
design standards and specifications.
