Attached is a copy of the cover letter for TR-47. On page 3 of the TR-47 cover letter, Bowie Resources states that
the dead storage in the proposed sediment pond HC is 0.03 acres and that the evaporative loss in pond HC amounts
to 0.08 acre-feet per year. Bowie Resources further states that the total evaporation estimate from all of its ponds is
being lowered in Technical Revision No. 47 from the currently approved 5.20 acre-feet per year down to 4.88 acre-
feet per year in order to match the approved water augmentation plans. Attached is a copy of TR-47 revised page
2.04-66 which shows the revised pond evaporation estimates. Due to this reduction in the total annual pond
evaporation estimate, the total estimated water consumption use was also reduced in TR-47 from 323.8 acre-feet
down to 323.5 acre-feet. This does not include the water needed for drilling the vent shaft, as described further on
page 3 of the TR-47 cover letter.
For additional information or to provide written comments, contact the Division of Reclamation, Mining and
Safety, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. In order for us to comply with
regulatory time frames, we request that comments be submitted within fifteen (IS) days of this letter. If no
comments are received by then, we will proceed on the assumption that you have no concerns with, or objections
to, the applicant's proposal.
Sincerely,
J sep ash
nvironmental Protection Specialist
Attachments
JJD/Ahd
M:\OSS\ehd\mmp\GTR-03 C1996083_11D_0319200]105936.doc
