'
f r8i6
Bill Ritter, Jr.
Governor
Harris D. Sherman
Executive Director
(Vacant)
State Engineer
On August 16, 2007, the State Engineer's Office (SEO) reviewed the Bowie No. 2 Mine
(Permit No. C-1996-083), Technical Revisions Application No.48 (TR-48) for the Revised
Hubbard Creek Vent Shaft Project. The revision proposes to drill two 10.5 foot diameter
shafts instead of one 12 foot diameter shaft. A mud pit will be used for drilling purposes.
The mud pit will be a temporary feature that will be backfilled upon completion of the
drilling. Water for the drilling operation and pit will be supplied from Hubbard Creek as
long as the creek does not have a call. When there is a call, water will be hauled from
alternative sources. The SEO needs to know the alternative sources that the applicant
intends to use in order to respond to the proposal.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact the information desk of this office at (303)
866-3587.
Sincerely,
~~_ ~ .~•
Mark J.
