Lochhead <br />E>teCUlrve Director <br />""°°"° Michael B Long <br />Drv~sion Dneaor <br />RE: Notification of Pre-Hearing Conference, Recommendation by the Division of Minerals <br />and Geology, and Consideration of Approval by the Mined Land Reclamation Board; <br />Colona Pit, File No. M-94005, Amendment Application <br />AM-001 <br />Dear Mr. Works: <br />Since none of the objections were withdrawn at the informal conference December 19, 1994, the <br />Division has scheduled apre-hearing conference for the referenced permit application. The pre- <br />hearing conference will be held on Friday, January 13, 1995, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, at <br />the Montrose County Sheriff's Office meeting room (adjacent to courthouse), 317 S. 2nd, <br />Montrose, Colorado. <br />All interested parties are herewith notified of the conference pursuant to Rule 1.6.1(4)(x). Mr. <br />Luke Danielson, Mined Land Reclamation Board Member, has been designated pre-hearing <br />conference officer. <br />On January 3, 1995, the Division of Minerals and Geology issued its recommendation to the <br />Mined Land Reclamation Board for consideration during the January 25-26, 1995 meeting. The <br />rccom.~raadatiou by the Division for the Board is to approve the referenced amendment to the 112 <br />Regular Permit. The reasons for the recommendation are as follows: <br />1. The applicant, United Companies of Mesa County, complied with all requirements of the <br />Mined Land Reclamation Act and the Minerals Rules and Regulations, followed all <br />required notice procedures, and has, or will obtain, all necessary permits. . <br />2. The applicant has agreed to submit a fmancial warranty bond in an amount the Division <br />deems sufficient for the proposed fmal reclamation. <br />3. The applicant has agreed to modifications recommended by the Colorado Division of <br />Wildlife, to minimize wildlife impacts, in compliance with Minerals Rule 3.1.8.(1). <br />
