<br />Rationale for Recommendation for Approval Over Objections <br />Regular 112 Construction Materials Permit Amendment Application, Snowstorm Sand & Gravel LLC <br />Snowstorm Placer, M-83-084 <br />November 2, 1998 <br />Introduction <br />On October 27, 1998, the Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) issued its recommendation for <br />approval of Snowstorm Sand & Gravel LLC's amendment application, over objections. This document is <br />intended to explain why the DMG was able to recommend approval over the various concerns and <br />expressed objections to approval. <br />Snowstorm Sand & Gravel LLC's amendment application was found to be complete and considered filed <br />with the Division on June 27, 1998. The application proposes to expand the allowed disturbed land from <br />29 acres to 79.5 acres (the total affected land acreage) and proposes to revise the post-mining land use <br />from Industrial/Conunercial to Wildlife Habitat which is compatible with surrounding land use. <br />The surface and mineral rights are owned by the applicant. <br />Obiections <br />The Division received objections and or concerns from the following individuals and organizations <br />during the initial public comment period. <br />Objector Dated Date Received <br />Desmond B.
