Long <br /> Divismn Director <br />Re: Munger Canyon Mine (Permit No. C-S1-020) <br />Permit Approval <br />Permit Renewal Application No. 3 <br />Dear Ga~eld County Commissioners: <br />This letter is to inform you that the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology is proposing to approve a renewal <br />application for a coal mining and reclamation permit. The application was submitted by Grand Valley Coal <br />Company on July I5, 1997, for the Munger Canyon Mine. <br />Any person with an interest which may be adversely affected by the proposed decision may tcquest a formal hearing <br />before the Mined Land Reclamation Board within 30 days of the first publication of this notice by the Division in <br />the The Daily Sentinel. <br />The underground mine is located approximately 18 miles north of Loma, Colorado. The permit area is further <br />described as follows: <br />Mine site: Portions of Sections 21, 27, 28, 29, 32, 33, and 34, T7S, R102W, 6th P.M., all in Gafield County. <br />Portions of Sections 2 and 3, T8S, R102W, 6th P.M., all in Garfield County. <br />Rail Loadout: Portions of Section 23, T2N, R3 W, Ute PM, in Mesa County. <br />Portions of Section 3, TIN, R3W, Ute PM, in Mesa County. <br />Copies of the renewal application are available for public review in the Division offices at the above address and at <br />the Ga~eld County Clerk and Recorders Office.
