Rox 591 <br />Somerset., CO 81434 <br />Re: West Elk Mine, Private Land Site FF <br />' Dear Ms. Johnson: <br /> <br />This is to acknowledge receipt of your June 14, 1996 correspondence <br />concerning the above proposed project. <br />Since no cultural resources were identified during the Metcalf <br />Archaeological Consultants survey "Mountain Coal Company's West Elk <br />Mine, Three Exploratory Drill Holes, Two Ventilation Shafts b <br />Associated AcceKS Upgrades," we will concur with the no effect <br />determination. The project may proceed without further <br />consultation wittl our office. <br />If archaeological resources are discovered in the course of any <br />ground disturbance, work must be interrupted until the resources <br />are properly evaluat.Pd in terms of the National Register of <br />Historic Places eligibility criteria (36 CFR 60.4) in consultation <br />with this office. <br />Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
