`.`~
FLATIRON COMPANIES
NORTHGATE LOADOUT
PHASE II-III BOND RELEASE APPLICATION
1. Date of request: November 2, 1995.
2. Permittee: Flatiron Companies dba Walden Coal Company.
3. Permit Number: C-81-021.
4. Date Permit Renewed: April 21, 1993.
5. Facility Name: Northgate Loadout.
6. Phase of Bond Release Requested: II and III.
7. Number of Acres: 2.82.
8. Bond Company: St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company.
9. Bond Number: 400 HE 7644.
10. Current Total Amount of Bond: $214,400.
11. Dollar Amount Requested for Release: $0.
12. Legal Description of the Area Requested:
Part of S1/2 NE1/4 Sec 31 T11N R79W Jackson County, CO.
13. A Map Showing Area: See Exhibit A.
14. Date Reclamation Performed:
Grading and seeding was completed in October 1988.
15. A Description of the Results Achieved:
Walden Coal Company removed all coal from the loadout site.
The site was then graded. All topsoil stockpiled at the site was
spread across the disturbed area. The property was ripped and
seeded with the approved Northgate seed mix (Exhibit B). Although
vegetative cover is not required due to the industrial post-mine
land use and the fact that the property is level and thus does not
have any surface water runoff, a healthy stand of vegetation has
been established on the site. There is currently no pollution of
surface or sub-surface water occurring and the probability of
future pollution is virtually non-existent.
