9-18-1997 3=174-0 FRO:ENVIRONMENTAL 9708702753 F-2 PUBLIC NOTICE Please take notice that Colorado Yampa Coal Company (CYCC), 29587 Routt County Road 27, Oak Creek, Colorado 80467 is submitting a request for final bond release for 368 acres of its Mine 3 operation Perlnit number C-84-06, which was issued on 10!4/84. The mine is located approximately 15 miles southwest of Steamboat Spxings; Colorado; the surface is owned by Twentymile Coal Company. The location and the boundaries of the operation are shown on the accc,mpanying map, which corresponds to the USGS Cow Creek 7.5 minute quadrangles. The operation is located in portions of Sections 1, 2, 12, ] 3, and 24, T5N, R86W and portions of Sections 18 and ] 9, TSN, R85W of the 6tb P.M., Routt County, Colorado. CYCC is requesting final release of 368 acres of reclamation (122.6 acres in the North parcel and 245.4 in the South parcel) which was co,npleted between September, 1979 and June, 1987 in compliance with the approved reclamation plan. Reclamation work performed inc).uded backfilling and grading of disturbed areas to the approved postmining topography, replacement of salvaged topsoil, and establishment of approved revegetation seed mixture. The Mine 3 operation was reclaimed to pastureland, which is the approved postlnining land use for this operation. Requested amount of bond to be released is $200,000. CYCC has a corporate surety bond, issued by Aetna Casualty and Surety Company, in the amount of $200,000 on file with the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology. Written comment, objections, or requests for an informal conference should be submitted to the State of Colorado, Division of Minerals and Geology, 131;1 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203. Comments and requests must be received within thirty (30) days of the last publication of this notice or within thirty (3U) days of the inspection completed by the Division of Minerals and Geology, whichever is later. i
