9-18-1997 3=174-0 FRO:ENVIRONMENTAL 9708702753 F-2 <br />PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Please take notice that Colorado Yampa Coal Company (CYCC), 29587 <br />Routt County Road 27, Oak Creek, Colorado 80467 is submitting a <br />request for final bond release for 368 acres of its Mine 3 operation <br />Perlnit number C-84-06, which was issued on 10!4/84. The mine is <br />located approximately 15 miles southwest of Steamboat Spxings; <br />Colorado; the surface is owned by Twentymile Coal Company. The <br />location and the boundaries of the operation are shown on the <br />accc,mpanying map, which corresponds to the USGS Cow Creek 7.5 <br />minute quadrangles. The operation is located in portions of Sections 1, <br />2, 12, ] 3, and 24, T5N, R86W and portions of Sections 18 and ] 9, TSN, <br />R85W of the 6tb P.M., Routt County, Colorado. <br />CYCC is requesting final release of 368 acres of reclamation (122.6 <br />acres in the North parcel and 245.4 in the South parcel) which was <br />co,npleted between September, 1979 and June, 1987 in compliance <br />with the approved reclamation plan. Reclamation work performed <br />inc).uded backfilling and grading of disturbed areas to the approved <br />postmining topography, replacement of salvaged topsoil, and <br />establishment of approved revegetation seed mixture. The Mine 3 <br />operation was reclaimed to pastureland, which is the approved <br />postlnining land use for this operation. Requested amount of bond to be <br />released is $200,000. CYCC has a corporate surety bond, issued by <br />Aetna Casualty and Surety Company, in the amount of $200,000 on file <br />with the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology. <br />Written comment, objections, or requests for an informal conference <br />should be submitted to the State of Colorado, Division of Minerals and <br />Geology, 131;1 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203. <br />Comments and requests must be received within thirty (30) days of the <br />last publication of this notice or within thirty (3U) days of the inspection <br />completed by the Division of Minerals and Geology, whichever is later. <br />i <br />
