BOX 2071 TELEPHONE
(970) 2A1-0483
December 8, 2004
Mr. Russ Means
Department of Natural Resources
Division of Minerals and Geology /
101 South Third
Grand Junction, CO 81501
HAND DELIVERED
Re: Parkerson C~o~ruction, Inc. /
32 Road Pif,'Mesa County, CO
Mineral Extraction Permit 1985-219 v
Technical Revision Ol
Dear Mr. Means:
I ~-1
DEC 1 0 20AS
,function Reid tlfNce
ENvfaion of Minerob 8 Geology
I submit the following Technical Revision Ol on behalf of Pazkerson
Construction, Inc. to address concerns raised by Mr. Mezei of the Army Corps of
Engineers regarding irrigation tail water that is directed through Pazkerson's 32 Road Pit,
eventually draining into the Colorado River.
The proposed T. R. to Permit 1985-219 results from an onsite meeting on October
21S` among Mr. Mezei, Pazkerson representatives and you, and further discussion
between Mr. Greg Hoskin and Mr. Mezei, including Mr. Hoskin's letter of October 3`d, a
copy which was provided to you.
Pazkerson proposes to construct an overflow structure appurtenant to the north
end of a small water storage pond situated at the south end of the permit azea, as depicted
on the attached drawing. During periods of significant tail water flow, or occasional
surface water flow from storm events, water captured by the pond could from time to
time overflow into a partially rip rapped dirt channel that will direct the intermittent
surface flow to a shallow Swale that will be placed as shown in the attached drawing.
The Swale will be part of one or more irrigated fields, and will terminate at the north end
of the permit area at the existing tail water channel. In addition, Pazkerson proposes to
add additional water to the south shelter belt and plant willows. This will be
accomplished next spring.
