December "0, 1998
Colorado Mined Land Redamation Board
1313 Sherman Street Rm. 215
Denver, CO 80203
Board Members,

ACA Products, 702 Gregg Drive, Buena vista, Colorado has notified me of their intent to file for
an amendment to their mining permit. The permitted acreage will increase from the current 40
affected acres to 108 affected acres. ACA products is a company recently spun off of ASI RCC
Inc., a local construction company with many years of close association with Chaffee County and
the Town of Buena Vista. ASI and ACA corY.inue to be irr~portant businesses to our local
governments and economies, supplying critical building materials, jobs, and tax revenue to our
local area. Dudng the past several years, ASI RCC, the former owner of the pit, has worked on a
number of joint projects with CDOT, Chaffee County, and the Town of Buena Vsta which has
included land use, real estate swaps and other land transfers for the community benefit.
ACA Products, the new, separate owner /operator of the gravel pit, ready mix, and asphah
plants, wishes to increase the permitted "affected land" to meet all applicable rules and
regulations regarding this land use and to properly permit its gravel reserves for the foreseeable
future.
ACA Products is an important contributor to our local economy, community development, and has
always maintained good neighbor relations. I wholly support the ACA Products mining permit
amendment request and look forward to marry more years of association with ACA Products.
Sincerel~_
GS3 G-~PYB'8' DR

M-~9-oiO
