RE: CYPRUS ORCHARD VALLEY MINE PLAN MODIFICATION
Dear Mr. Genouves:
Please accept this letter as a request to modify the currently
approved mining plan in effect at the Cyprus Orchard Valley West
mine. The proposed modification entails the addition of panel A+
located at the eastern end of the II West Submain development as
depicted on the enclosed Map No. 2-5.
Panel A+ encompasses a portion of lease C-37210 and a portion of
lease C-27432. The addition of panel A+ allows Cyprus to maximize
the recovery of coal reserves in this area.
Cyprus Orchard Valley is currently in the process of obtaining a
minor revision to CMLRD Permit No. C-81-038 incorporating panel A+
into the mine plan and modifying the five year mine plan boundary
to include that portion of panel A+ situated within lease C-27432.
CMLRD is required to verify that appropriate approvals have been
obtained from affected landowners prior to granting Division
approval to changes of this nature.
After reviewing the enclosed materials, please acknowledge the
Bureau of Land Management's approval of this proposed change by
signing the attached statement. Please forward this letter with
your original signature to the CMLRD and return a copy to Cyprus
Orchard Valley.
