United States Department of Agriculture 4 FRCS Natural Resources Conservation Service Walden Service Center 100 Main Street Walden, Colorado 80480 Phone: (970) 723 - 4724 Fax: (970) 723 - 4709 Jackson Country Road & Bridge: After reviewing the information concerning the proposed Riley Gravel Pit, we have the following comments and/or suggestions: * The reclamation plan (Exhibit E.) for the proposed Riley Gravel Pit addresses the major resource concerns The North Park Conservation District has regarding a gravel mining operation at the location of: Township 7 North, Range 78 West, Section 14: 6 p.m. * I have included additional information to the Exhibit F. (Reclamation Plan Map) so that a copy of the aerial view of the property is included. * The water information (Exhibit G.) appears correct and we concur that no impact should occur to subsurface waters. * The soils information (Exhibit L) is complete, but we have also included further non- technical soils information, suitability of Buffineyer Sandy Loam for construction materials and an additional soils map of the area. * The vegetative information (Exhibit J.) indicates the potential vegetation composition for the site. Planned dates and application method of seeding aze concurrent with our specifications. Attached is a seeding recommendation and rate from NRCS. * Exhibit K. (Climate) is properly stated and located within the Jackson County Soil Survey. We concur with the results of your findings and reports and see no indication of any major resource impacts.
