' PAST REGULATORY CO?~LPLIANCE
Mining operations have been in effect at the ?dorrison
quarry since 1971. Currently, the quarry is comprised of
160 acres of land and operations are proceeding under exist-
ing approval from both Jefferson County and the State of
' Colorado.
In 1975, a reRUest to rezone 364 acres of the Cooley
property as a Mineral-Conservation ("~-C) District was ap-
proved by the Jefferson County Board of Adjustments in order
to permit mining of construction aggregates at the quarry
' (Rezoning Case No. B75-12; Resolution No. CC75-123). Sub-
senuently, in 1980, the County Commissioners approved Case
No. M80-2 granting Cooley Gravel Company a special exception
' to mine aggregate in a M-C District on 160 acres of their
land.
I The Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board granted
Permit No. 73-21 to the Cooley Gravel Company in 1979, ap-
1 proving mining and reclamation on 62 acres of land at the
existing quarry. Am amendment to the permit was recently
approved in October of 1981, expanding the permit area to
' include the additional 98 acres that ccmnrise the 160-acre
site currently being mined.
1
1
' 2
