r
1
The affected land is located along the foothills in an
' essentially undeveloped area. Significant wildlife such as
' deer, red fox, coyote, rabbits and birds inhabit the area and
have become acclimated to the existing quarry activity.
' During the mining operation, some wildlife support: such
as availability of feed, forage and shelter may be lost: but will
be returned after reclamation has been completed. The dis-
tribution and percentages of various slope types in the area
' will be different than at present, but the approximate relation-
';' ships will remain the same. Final reclamation will provide
I
slopes and brushy lowlands as before which will provide. essential-
ly equal or greater levels of carrying capacity than present
conditions. The area has been disturbed for years, therefore,
the impacts on local wildlife will be rather insignificant;
I moreover, the impacts will be limited and of temporary nature
and will diminish in the long run due to reclamation of the total
' area after mining. No threatened or endangered species are known
to inhabit the area.
' Included in this section is an inventory of species which
'~~ may possibly inhabit the area that includes the mining site.
This inventory was taken from the Colorado Division of Wildlife's
' Latilong Studies.

Exhibit H
Morrison Quarry Expansion
Phase II
L~ WILDLIFE
H-1
