Erica Crosby
Division of Mineral and Geology
October 21, 2004
Lafarge Permit Overlap
Please note that on May 24, 2000, the Mined Land Reclamation Board approved an
Amendment to Lafarge Permit #M-74-015 which included land that significantly overlaps the
Cemex Lyons Quarry permit boundary in the northern portion of the property as shown on the
attached map. This area is mostly undisturbed by both Cemex and Lafarge, except for a few
acres of plant stockpiles and conveyor and railroad access adjacent to the existing cement
plant. These areas will ultimately be reclaimed to irrigated pasture. Cemex is concerned
about this duplicative permitting on the same land, and may attempt to resolve the situation
prior to future disturbance by Lafarge.
Please let me know if you have any questions about this request to modify the reclamation
plan at Cemex's Lyons Quarry. Thank you.
Sincerely,
BANKS AND GESSO.
