III III III IIIIIII III Doc Date:12/11/2001

NOrtM1western Dlvlllon
F ra ntler. WY 83121
April 21, 1983
Ms. Sandy Emeric
Mined Land Reclamation Division
423 Centennial Buidling
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, Colorado 80203
Dear Sandy:
Enclosed with this letter is a request to reduce the old "Life of Mine"
permit bond to reflect the duplicate coverage with the new permanent
program bond, and that some of the areas covered by the "Life of Mine"
bond have met some, or all of the applicable bond release criteria. I had
discussed the concept of this request with Carol Russel last year, and it
was our conclusion that this request should probably first be reviewed by
the Division, and then acted upon by the Board if necessary. The
procedure is not clear since many of the mechanisms set up by the previous
laws concerning bonds are not applicable now. I would like to discuss
this matter with you when you have a chance to review it.
Sincerely,
John Hinton
Director-Reclamation
JH/md
Enc.
s
Gulf
• 9V!l~0~~RV O.
