MIS species observed along the drainage were the red-naped
sapsucker and elk. The red-naped sapsucker was observed in aspen stands along the road comdor. A
few aspen would be taken during road construction, but there aze lazge stands of aspen throughout the
azea and loss of these tress will of affect sapsucker numbers in the vicinity. Elk aze common throughout
the azea, having habituated to activities associated with mining, and will not be adversely affected by
construction of the road."
The report further concludes "There aze no endangered or threatened plant species known to occur in the
project azea."
We appreciate your consideration and cazeful review of this submittal and, as always, would be happy to
work with you to address any questions or concerns that arise.
Sinc re y, `D~'~ _
Henry Bazbe +;~~//• -
Environmental Engineer
cc: Gene DiClaudio
Michael J.
