MANAGEMENT
On behalf of Bowie Resources Limited, (BRL), enclosed is an application for a technical
revision to provide for the construction of a ventilation shaft. The shaft will be
constructed on an east facing slope in the Hubbard Creek drainage south of Freeman
Gulch.
Associated Permit Actions
The proposed ventilation shaft will be located on an existing exploration drill site. The
light use road and drill pad were constructed during 1999 as part of the Freeman Gulch
Exploration Plan, notice of intent number X-98-217-02 issued 9/11/98 and Federal Coal
Exploration License number COC-61653 issued 8/24/98.
Project Description
The existing mine ventilation system is a pressurized system. The proposed ventilation
shaft will vent return air to the atmosphere. A fan will not be insta{led on this new shaft.
BRL plans to excavate a six to eight foot diameter shaft into the mine and line it with
steel. The steel liner will be grouted in place. Excavation will be by raise bore or
conventional sinking methods.
The drill pad will be expanded as part of this revision. No significant changes are
planned for the light use road.
Right of Entry
The drill pad is located on property owned by the BRL. The light use road is located on
both BLM and BRL owned property. BRL has applied for Federal Right-of-Way (COC-
63617) so it can utilize the portions of the light use road located on BLM land.
iii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
