Date entered: June 20, 1958. <br />B. Case number: Case No. 4613. <br />C. Court: Garfield County District Court. <br />D. Location: The outlet of the dam is located at the point whence the Southwest <br />corner of Section 7, Township 8 South, Range 84 West of the 6th P.M. bears <br />North 68°58'00" a distance of 1,126.0 feet. <br />E. Source; Frying Pan River. <br />F. Amount: 102,369 acre-feet. <br />G. Historic use: The water rights decreed to Ruedi Reservoir are decreed for <br />augmentation uses. <br />20. This plan for augmentation was proposed to afford a fully augmented supply of.water for <br />the Applicant's coal mine located in Section 24, Township 5 South, Range 92 West of <br />the 6th P.M. The Applicant proposes to provide a water supply for domestic, imgation, <br />dust suppression, evaporation, and cooling purposes and other industrial uses in <br />association with its operation of the coal mine. The Applicant proposes to divert water <br />through the structures listed in Paragraph 18, above, for these purposes. (A location map <br />showing the mine and structures is attached as Exhibit "A"). <br />Additionally, the Applicant must pump water from the mine portal in order to dewater <br />the mine. Such water is pumped into ponds to settle the solids. Water pumped into the <br />ponds that is not used returns to the stream system via seepage and by releases from the <br />pond. To determine the water requirements for operation of the mine, the Applicant has <br />estimated the following: Approximately 35 persons will be employed by Eastside Coal <br />Company. In-house uses consists of domestic uses, outside uses consist of irrigation of <br />up to 1 acre per year and coal-related industrial uses.
